Statistical crime data across New York counties are managed and disseminated by the New York Division of Criminal Justice Services. According to 2017 reports, Oneida county recorded a moderate decline in crime rate, with only 4,773 reported crimes compared to 2016’s 5,233. Larceny accounted for 68% of the total crimes with almost 3,300 reported incidents followed closely by burglary with 666 recurrences and rape with 203 incidents. Overall, the county’s violent crimes spiked slightly while property crimes recorded a decline.

Records of bankruptcy cases filed in Oneida County from December 2002 to date are managed and disseminated by the Clerk of Courts of the Northern District of New York US Bankruptcy Court.

Interested persons may self-serve using the court's public terminals with which searches can be conducted using details of the debtor and the date of filing or judgment. To make electronic copies, requestors are charged a $0.10 per page fee. Alternatively, requesting persons may send written requests to the Clerk's office. The New York State Department of Health serves as the central repository of vital records for residents of the state. The department processes requests for records of deaths, births, marriages, and divorces from 1963 to date, for all of New York state.
